South Africa Group Trip

Janet’s Journey’s first trip of 2023 will be to the wonderful country of SOUTH AFRICA! It’s on of my personal favourite countries, having lived there for almost 2 years, and i’m exited to show you around this incredible travel destination!

We will spend 10 days exploring the best parts of the country, exploring one of the most culturally and geographically diverse places on earth, known by locals as ‘The Rainbow Nation’.

This trip is focused on pure adventure, adrenaline and thrill seeking, with a side of culture and wine tasting of course! You won’t spend a second being bored as we have an exciting jam packed schedule of fun and unique activities planned out, many unique to South Africa.

This epic adventure will showcase all of South Africa’s highlights, traveling in an overland vehicle, and stopping at all of the hotspots, seeing wild elephants, bungee jumping, seeing African penguins, exploring magical Cape Town and more!

DAY 1 – 4 : Cape Town

The bustling city of Cape Town will wow you with its incredible powdery white beaches, highly acclaimed wine routes, and astonishingly beautiful mountain trails surrounding a cosmopolitan hub.

During our 4 days in Cape town we will visit the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art; Table Mountain’s jaw-dropping views; Boulders Beach, where penguins might swim right up to you; the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, where you can walk along a treetop canopy among among the beautiful flowers; Robben Island, where visitors can see the cell where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years; and many more.

Not to mention a full day Winelands Tour!

Day 5: Oudtshoorn 

Day 5 will be spent at Oudtshoorn, located along the well-known Route 62 in South Africa’s beautiful Klein Karoo (this charming town of Oudtshoorn is known as the ostrich capital of the world!)

We will be visiting the world-renowned Cango Caves, the largest cave system in Africa featuring ancient rock formations and sparkling stalactites and stalagmites. We have lots of exciting activity options for you to choose from during your time in Oudtshoorn!

Day 6 – 7: Storms River 

Day 6 + 7 will be spent on Storms River, a scenic adventure sports enthusiast’s paradise. 

We will visit Tsitsikamma National Park, a jungle with bustling wildlife, rivers, and where sea – adrenaline-junkies can enjoy canopying, ziplining, tubing, kayaking, snorkelling, segway riding, cycling, and hiking.  

Here is where we will go to Bloukrans River Bridge, the highest in Africa, where all of the thrill seekers of the group will do some bungee jumping! A once in a lifetime opportunity!

Day 8: Jeffrey’s Bay  

We will continue travelling in our overland vehicle to Jeffrey’s Bay, the home to some of the best surfing in South Africa, and at Supertubes you will find one of the best waves in the world. 

While Jeffrey’s Bay is renowned for its excellent surf it is also popular for its aloe studded landscape, sun-drenched beaches, dolphin spotting, and shell collecting. We can look forward to a number of activities including trying your hand at surfing, relaxing on pristine beaches, and sampling delicious fresh seafood.

Day 9: Addo Elephant Park

Day 9 will be spent at Sunday’s River Valley, an extraordinary area boasting several unique towns and attractions. 

We will visit the famous Addo Elephant Park, a wonderland of magnificent scenery and an abundance of wildlife including lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and African buffalos!

Day 10: Fly home

Today we will say goodbye to South Africa and set on our onward travels!

Accommodation

Throughout our stay in South Africa, we will stay in a mixture of hostels and guesthouses. The full hotel list will be available once the 12 spaces are booked, and I assure you you’re gonna love every single place!

All rooms on all trips are shared, with 2 people in each room. We will partner you with an adventure buddy – an amazing way to make new friends! You’ll be moved around to pair up with a new friend every couple of nights. 

All rooms will be twin sharing, private rooms, not dorms! 😉

Terms and Conditions

Your deposit is non refundable.

For the balance of your payment, I can refund you the full amount (minus your deposit) up to 8 weeks before the trip begins should you have an emergency / illness / need to cancel.

Anything closer than 8 weeks, I cannot refund you. I suggest you take out travel insurance that covers trip cancellations, that way should something happen like you get Covid, you will get a full payout from your insurance company.
