Itinerary

Day 1 - Johannesburg

Welcome to Africa!

You will land in Africa’s capital city of Johannesburg,  one of Africa’s largest and most vibrant cities that offers a wide range of activities and attractions.  Once everyone has arrived, we can head downtown to enjoy lunch, some markets, see some ultra-modern skyscrapers and get a real feel for the City of Gold.

The itinerary for this day depends on what time people fly in and how people are feeling, but hopefully, we can at least fit in a visit to the Apartheid Museum which is a MUST-VISIT.

Meals: Group dinner included

Day 2 - Cross border from South Africa to Botswana

Day 2 involves heading to the quiet Kalahari Desert town of Kang, a relaxing  base from which to explore Northern Botswana, Namibia, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and the Central Kalahari Park.

The remote village is strikingly scenic, providing a great hiking trail and of course, some epic picture opportunities!

Here is where we will embark on an epic safari, where we have the chance of spotting cheetahs, leopards and  many different types of game species!

After an exciting day on safari, don’t miss the opportunity to take a refreshing  dip in one of the swimming pools at Twee Rivieren, Kalahari Tent, Mata Mata and Nossob camps at the nearby  Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3 - Ghanzi, Botswana

Today we go to the small town of Ghanzi , which is sometimes referred to as the ‘Capital of the  Kalahari’.  The Ghanzi area has a number of lodges that focus on cultural tourism as well as wildlife viewing – here you can experience the fascinating world of the San Bushmen as they explain to you how they forage, hunt and find water in this harsh environment.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 4 - Moremi Game Reserve

The Khwai area of the Okavango Delta (in Botswana) lies along the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve.

The Khwai area offers a similar wildlife experience as the Moremi Game Reserve with the added advantage of being a private concession, which means we can do walking safaris and night drives!
We won’t miss the opportunity to soak up beautiful views of the scenic landscape and spot an array of wildlife!

Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 5 - The Botswana adventure continues

Today we join an authentic African adventure that takes you deep into the heart of the  Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and natural wonder of epic proportions.

We get to experience a local tradition that has defined the way of safaris. We get to meet locals who share their local heritage and in-depth knowledge of the area, so we can enjoy a privileged insight into this otherwise inaccessible wilderness.

As you explore the idyllic channels, lagoons and remote islands, the knowledgeable guides share insight into the wild and wonderful world around you. The guides have a wealth of knowledge of the area and eagerly share the stories of their people and related folktales. Their first-hand experience of the area’s wildlife is an incredible gift they readily share.

Meals: To be determined

Day 6 & 7 - The Chobe River

Today, we head to Kasane!

Tucked away in the northeastern corner of Botswana, on the banks of the famous Chobe River, the scenic little town of Kasane rests on the doorstep of the spectacular Chobe National Park.
There are no boundary fences separating the village from the park, so animals such as elephants and hippos are often spotted roaming around the town – how exciting!

Visitors can look forward to a heap of activities including enjoying a drive through the park to spot animals, taking a sunset cruise down the Chobe River, and visiting a local village.

The Chobe Boat Cruise is a wonderful way to experience the Chobe National Park, where we have the opportunity to see animals like elephants, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles and more, in their natural habitat!
Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 8 & 9 - Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Today is the day that we visit one of the most epic places on earth and a worldwide recognised attraction – one of the 7 natural wonders of the world! Victoria Falls is one of the world’s most impressive waterfalls and lives up to its epic reputation!

It is set on the magnificent Zambezi River which creates the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The small town of Victoria Falls lies adjacent to the waterfalls, serves as a great base to explore the many attractions, and has a wide range of adrenaline-filled activities for all you adventure lovers!
We can look forward to partaking in a bunch of exciting activities over these two days, including scenic flights, micro lighting, white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, and once-in-a-lifetime expeditions into the incredible Chobe National Park.
Many of these adventure activities will be optional extras but we will include at least ONE epic activity for the group to do such as GRADE 5 White Water Rafting…if you’re brave enough. That would be a half-day trip, then you have a few hours to add another activity if you wish…like the bungee jump!

Meals: Breakfast
(For lunch and dinner there’s lots of option available in Vic Falls town)

Day 10 - End of Itinerary

Our African adventure sadly ends today, and once we finish breakfast, we will make our way to the airport for our international flights home.

However, it’s very easy to extend for a night of two should you wish to, and also easy to arrange a day trip to the Zambian side of the falls should you wish to tick another country off your bucket list!

Meals: Breakfast

BONUS EXTENSION TO CAPE TOWN

We are offering a 4-night add-on at the START of the trip, to give you the opportunity to experience the wonderful city of Cape Town while you are in Southern Africa. The bustling city of Cape Town is one of my FAVOURITE cities and will be sure to wow you with its incredible powdery white beaches, highly acclaimed wine routes, and astonishingly beautiful mountain trails surrounding a cosmopolitan hub.

During these 4 days in Cape Town, we will visit Table Mountain; Boulders Beach, where penguins might swim right up to you; the beaches of Camps Bay, the spectacular V&A Waterfront and of course a half-day wine-tasting excursion! All meals, transport, accommodation, activities etc included for this portion if you opt for it.

This will only go ahead if 5 or more people opt in – we’ll keep you updated.
