You’ll fly into Cape Town International Airport, where we’ll arrange airport pickups and transfer you to our accommodation
We’ll gather for a welcome dinner this evening to meet everyone and go over the exciting week ahead!

Day 2: Cape Town
Today we’re off on a full-day tour to the stunning Cape of Good Hope!
We’ll travel down the Atlantic coast via Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the most scenic coastal roads in the world. Along the way, we’ll stop at the adorable Boulders Beach to visit the famous African penguin colony. These cheeky birds might waddle right up to you, and you can even swim alongside them in the crystal-clear water!
Next, we continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where we’ll explore the rugged coastline, dramatic cliffs, and the iconic Cape Point. Contrary to popular belief, this isn’t quite the southernmost tip of Africa, but it’s where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet in spectacular fashion. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, including baboons and ostriches!
Included meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Day 3: Cape Town
We’ll take the ferry from the V&A Waterfront to this UNESCO World Heritage Site, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Tours are often led by former political prisoners, making this an incredibly moving experience. You’ll see Mandela’s cell, hear stories of life on the island, and learn about South Africa’s journey from apartheid to democracy.
In the afternoon, we’ll explore Table Mountain by taking the rotating cable car up to the flat-topped mountain for jaw-dropping 360-degree views of the city, ocean, and surrounding peaks.
Then it’s time for sunset in Camps Bay, where we’ll enjoy sundowners at one of the beachfront bars and restaurants. The perfect way to end our Cape Town adventure!
Included meals: Breakfast and Lunch
Day 4: NYE in Stellenbosch
We can’t think of a more fun way to spend New Year’s Eve than a FULL day of wine tasting in Stellenbosch, South Africa’s most famous wine region!
After breakfast, we’ll drive through stunning mountain passes to the Cape Winelands. Stellenbosch is the heart of South African wine country, with oak-lined streets, Cape Dutch architecture, and some of the finest wines in the world.
We’ll visit some of the most beautiful wine estates, where we’ll taste everything from crisp Chenin Blancs to punchy Pinotages. Many estates offer stunning mountain views, gourmet food pairings, and historic cellars.
After sunset, we’ll have a special New Year’s Eve dinner, then celebrate the arrival of 2026 wine-happy and surrounded by new friends!
Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch and New Year’s Eve Dinner
Day 5: Buffelsdrift Game Lodge
After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll drive through spectacular mountain scenery on Route 62 to Oudtshoorn. We’ll arrive at the luxurious Buffelsdrift Game Lodge, a private reserve where animals sometimes roam right through the property!
This afternoon, we’ll head out on an exciting bush safari in open game drive vehicles. Hope to spot giraffes, zebras, various antelope species, and if we’re very lucky, some friendly elephants!
Tonight, we’ll sleep in luxury safari tents, with the sounds of the African night as our soundtrack.

Day 6: Storms River
After breakfast at the lodge, we hit the road towards Tsitsikamma, traveling along the famous Garden Route.
This is optional, but we can do the Bloukrans Bridge Bungee Jump en route – the highest commercial bungee jump in the world at 216 meters (709 feet)! This is the highest in Africa and one of the ultimate adrenaline rushes. The bungee jump is optional and costs approximately €50-60 (around 900-1,100 ZAR).
We’ll continue on to Tsitsikamma. This is an adventure sports enthusiast’s paradise. Get ready for two days of thrills!

Day 7: Tsitsikamma
Today we dive into the adventures of Tsitsikamma!
In the morning, we’ll explore this stunning national park where the indigenous forest meets the sea. Walk across the famous suspension bridge over the Storms River mouth, hike through ancient yellowwood forests, and take in the coastline where waves crash against rocky cliffs. This is one of the most beautiful and pristine parks in South Africa.

We will continue travelling in our overland vehicle to Jeffrey’s Bay, home to some of the best surfing in South Africa, and at Supertubes you will find some of the best waves in the world.

We can look forward to a number of activities including surfing, relaxing on pristine beaches, and sampling delicious fresh seafood.
Take some time to relax on the beach, enjoy some beers, go shopping in the outlets ot try your hand at surfing or sand boarding.

FAQ & Itinerary Note:
This itinerary, as always, is open to small changes depending on the weather, flights, etc. Fear not, if we have to make any adjustments, it will be to swap something out with an equally, if not better, experience!
Please note: this trip begins in Cape Town and ends at Port Elizabeth.
I'm ready! How do I book?
Click the BOOK NOW button to head to our payment portal and secure your spot with a €750 deposit. The remaining balance will be divided into two equal payments, due 2 and 3 months before departure.
Need a custom payment plan? No problem! Reach out to us, and we’ll create a plan tailored to your needs. Remember, spots are booked on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait!
How many people are on the trip?
This trip requires a minimum number of guests to proceed, and this minimum must be met at least 4 months before departure to be guaranteed. If the minimum number of guests is not met by then, a full refund will be issued.
Expect to travel with 6-14 new friends!
Why are deposits non-refundable?
What about my other payments? Are they refundable?
All payments, except your deposit, are fully refundable three months prior to the departure date. After the three-month mark, any payments made are non-refundable. This is because we are usually unable to find a replacement at such short notice, and have contracts in place with our vendors that need to be fulfilled.
Again, we strongly recommend all travellers have travel insurance so that they can refund you should your plans change. At the end of the day, we are a small business, and we want nothing more than to continue showing our guests the world. We hope you understand the importance of adhering strictly to this policy.
How much money will I need for non-included meals, alcohol, and souvenirs?
For non-included meals (mainly lunches and some dinners), expect to spend about 150-250 ZAR (€8-13) for casual dining and up to 400-600 ZAR (€20-30) for nicer restaurant meals.
South Africa is very affordable! Alcoholic drinks typically cost 40-80 ZAR (€2-4) for a beer, 60-120 ZAR (€3-6) for wine, and 80-150 ZAR (€4-8) for cocktails. Wine in Stellenbosch is especially affordable and delicious!
For souvenirs, budgeting is based on personal spending habits, but South Africa offers great shopping from local crafts to international brands at outlet stores (especially in Jeffrey’s Bay for surf gear).
How does tipping work?
To make things smooth and stress-free, we will be collecting a kitty of €50-100 at the beginning of the trip. This ensures all of our incredible on-the-ground vendors are taken care of, including guides, drivers, meals, and activities that are listed in your itinerary.
For any additional meals or personal expenses not included in the itinerary, you should expect to pay a separate tip. We will guide you on what is appropriate throughout the trip so you feel confident and comfortable.
How physically demanding is the trip?
The trip is designed to be accessible to most people in good health. Activities include moderate walking, visits to wildlife parks, some optional hikes, and adventure activities like blackwater tubing. It’s not overly strenuous, but a basic level of fitness will help you get the most out of the experiences.
The most physically demanding aspects would be:
- Hiking trails in Tsitsikamma (you can choose your level)
- Blackwater tubing (fun and manageable for most fitness levels)
- Optional activities like bungee jumping or surfing
- Walking around Cape Town attractions
If you have any concerns about specific activities, please let us know and we can discuss alternatives.
Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?
Absolutely! South African cuisine is diverse and delicious, and most restaurants and our accommodations can accommodate various dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, halal, and specific food allergies.
Please inform us of your specific dietary needs in advance so we can notify our accommodations and plan accordingly. South Africa is very accommodating for different diets, and you’ll find plenty of options!
What if I want my own room?
We believe that rooming is one of the best parts of the experience. It feels a little like adult summer camp and has always been a highlight for our guests, with nothing but positive feedback in the past.
That being said, if you feel that sharing does not suit your travel style, we are happy to discuss the option of a single room supplement. Simply reach out to us at janetsgrouptrips@gmail.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.
What are the health and vaccination requirements?
There are no required vaccinations to enter South Africa. The areas we’re visiting (Cape Town, Garden Route, Addo) are not malaria zones, so no malaria prophylaxis is needed – great news! However, it’s always wise to be up-to-date with routine vaccinations. We recommend to consider vaccinations for MMR, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, and yellow fever (if travelling from a country with yellow fever risk). Please consult your healthcare provider for personalised advice.
Who’s leading the trip?
Janet and the local tour guide will be with you every step of the way.
