Journey Through Ancient Persia

Dates:
Oct 24th – 31st 2026: JUST LAUNCHED

Cost: €1,950
Countries: Iran

An unforgettable 8-day adventure through one of the world’s most historically rich and culturally fascinating countries!

We’re talking ancient ruins at Persepolis, the jaw-dropping tilework of Isfahan’s mosques, and getting absolutely lost in the maze-like lanes of traditional Persian houses in Kashan. You’ll sip tea in centuries-old teahouses, wander through buzzing bazaars filled with spices and handwoven carpets, and taste some of the most incredible food you’ve ever had – saffron-infused rice, melt-in-your-mouth kebabs, and sweets that’ll ruin desserts for you back home.

This isn’t just ticking off monuments. It’s about proper cultural immersion.

Sleep in traditional hotels with intricate tilework and courtyards straight out of a fairytale, explore UNESCO World Heritage sites with expert local guides who bring history to life, and share those pinch-me moments with the most amazing group of women. Iran can feel overwhelming to tackle solo. The visa process, the language barrier, the navigation – but with our group? You get to experience all the magic without any of the stress.

This trip begins and ends in Tehran, with an incredible journey through the heart of Persia in between.

Please note that this trip starts and ends at Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport. Please book your international flights accordingly.

*IMPORTANT PASSPORT INFORMATION*

Iran does NOT stamp your passport anymore, so you don’t need to worry about having a controversial stamp affecting your future travel!

Special note for Iranian passport holders: If you hold an Iranian passport and have previously visited Israel, please email us at janetsgrouptrips@gmail.com as soon as possible, as this may affect your entry to Iran.

I'm ready! How do I book?

Ready for an unforgettable adventure in Iran? Click the BOOK NOW button to email us and secure your spot with a €850 deposit. The remaining balance will be paid in cash on arrival. Need a custom payment plan? No problem! Reach out to us, and we’ll create a plan that works best for you. Remember, spots are booked on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait!

We are not using our normal payment portal for this trip due to economic sanctions that are imposed on Iran at this time.

If you have any questions regarding the payment processes, don’t hesitate to reach out.

How many people are on the trip?

This trip requires a minimum number of guests to proceed, and this minimum must be met at least 4 months before departure to be guaranteed. If the minimum number of guests is not met by then, a full refund will be issued.

Expect to travel with 6-14 new friends!

Why are deposits non-refundable?

The deposit for your trip is non-refundable due to several important factors. Firstly, when you book a spot, we immediately begin the process of planning and preparing for your journey. This involves engaging staff who work diligently behind the scenes to ensure every aspect of your trip is meticulously organised. These preparations often involve upfront costs that are incurred from the moment your booking is confirmed. Additionally, by requiring a non-refundable deposit, we aim to ensure that all participants are committed to the trip.

We understand that plans can change, which is why we insist all travellers have trip insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances that might affect their ability to participate.

What about my other payments? Are they refundable?

All payments, except your deposit, are fully refundable three months prior to the departure date. After the three-month mark, any payments made are non-refundable. This is because we are usually unable to find a replacement at such short notice, and have contracts in place with our vendors that need to be fulfilled.

Again, we strongly recommend all travellers have travel insurance so that they can refund you should your plans change. At the end of the day, we are a small business, and we want nothing more than to continue showing our guests the world. We hope you understand the importance of adhering strictly to this policy.

How do I get a visa?

Good news! Our local team in Iran will handle the entire visa process on your behalf, and if your application is denied for any reason, we will refund your deposit in full.

Once approved, you’ll either collect your visa from an embassy or receive it on arrival via an e-visa.

For most travellers with a European passport, the e-visa is the simplest and most convenient option, and you’ll receive the visa once you arrive in Iran.

Travellers with an American passport have two pathways: you can either collect your visa in person at the embassy, or send a money order and documents (through the post if you’re not close to the embassy) to the Iranian office in Washington to have your visa issued. Again, we will let you know more after approval.

The visa fees (not included in the cost) vary by nationality, typically ranging from €90 – €150, and are payable either at the embassy or on arrival, for those eligible, at Tehran Airport.

How much money will I need for non-included meals, alcohol, and souvenirs?

All meals are included on this itinerary, so you will only need to budget for very affordable snacks.

Since Iran is an Islamic country, alcohol is not available. Instead, you’ll enjoy delicious alternatives like doogh (yoghurt drink), fresh juices, and the famous Persian tea!

Iran’s bazaars are filled with incredible treasures, from hand-knotted carpets to miniature paintings, saffron, and turquoise jewellery. Budgeting for souvenirs depends on personal spending habits.

How does tipping work?

To make things smooth and stress-free, we will be collecting a kitty of €60–100 at the beginning of the trip. This ensures all of our incredible on-the-ground vendors are taken care of, including guides, drivers, meals, and activities that are listed in your itinerary.

For any additional meals or personal expenses not included in the itinerary, you should expect to pay a separate tip. We will guide you on what is appropriate throughout the trip so you feel confident and comfortable.

How physically demanding is the trip?

The trip is designed to be accessible to most people in good health. Activities include moderate walks through historical sites, bazaars, and some ancient ruins. There’s quite a bit of walking at Persepolis, but nothing overly strenuous. A basic level of fitness will help you get the most out of the experiences.

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Absolutely! Iranian cuisine is diverse and can easily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and most other dietary restrictions. Persian food features lots of fresh herbs, rice dishes, stews, and grilled meats. Please inform us of your specific needs in advance, and we’ll make sure you’re well taken care of.

What if I want my own room?

We believe that rooming is one of the best parts of the experience. It feels a little like adult summer camp and has always been a highlight for our guests, with nothing but positive feedback in the past.

That being said, if you feel that sharing does not suit your travel style, we are happy to discuss the option of a single room supplement. Simply reach out to us at janetsgrouptrips@gmail.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What are the health and vaccination requirements?

There are no required vaccinations to enter Iran. However, it’s always wise to be up-to-date with routine vaccinations. Additionally, it’s recommended to consider vaccinations for MMR, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and typhoid. Please consult your healthcare provider for personalised advice.

Who’s leading the trip?

An experienced trip leader + local guides will be with you every step of this trip.
