Itinerary
Day 1 - Walking Tour & Cooking Class
As most flights arrive in the early morning (we’ll give flight advice!), our long weekend trip will be kicking off straight away!
In the mid-morning, we’ll set off with a local guide on a walking tour of Marrakech and the medina, making our way through maze-like alleyways and more colourful shops than you’ve ever dreamed of!
We’ll have lunch at the most *beautiful* restaurant before heading back to our Riad to officially check in and relax.
In the evening, we’ll support a local female entrepreneur and chef by doing a group cooking class at her restaurant – all funds are donated to women’s charities here in Marrakech.
Meals Include: Lunch & dinner
Day 2 - Marrakech – Ouarzazate
Rise and shine, we’re leaving the city for an epic adventure!
Starting from Marrakech, we traverse the Tizi ‘n’ Tichka pass and charming Berber villages.
The highlight of the day is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, before continuing through Ouarzazate.
En route to the Dades Valley, we pass the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs, Roses Valley and stop at Kalaat Mgouna – famed for its roses. Arriving in Dades Valley, we’ll stay in a local, traditional riad.
Meals: Breakfast & dinner
Day 3: Travel to Merzouga Desert
Embark on a thrilling adventure towards the dunes of Erg Chebbi with a stop at Todra Valley and Todra Gorges.
We then drive to Tinjdad, where you can have lunch, and then to Erfoud, famous for its fossils.
After arriving in Merzouga, your camel guide will take you to the Erg Chebbi dunes for a stunning sunset.
Spend the night in nomadic tents under the stars, enjoying storytelling by campfire, a delicious dinner and stargazing until bedtime!

Day 4: Merzouga - Marrakech
After breakfast, we will begin our return trip to Marrakech.
We will travel back the same route through Boumalne Dades and Ouarzazate, then stop for lunch in the village of Kalaat Mgouna.
Then it’s back into the High Atlas Mountains before arriving in Marrakech in the evening.
We’ll end the trip with a themed dinner experience in Marrakech, and a night stroll through the medina for some last-minute shopping!

Day 5: Departure
The trip can’t be over, can it?
As there are various Ryanair flights departing throughout the day, you can choose which ones suit you best.

FAQ & Itinerary Notes:
This itinerary, as always, is open to small changes depending on the weather, flights, etc. Fear not, if we have to make any adjustments, it will be to swap something out with an equally, if not better, experience!
I'm ready! How do I book?
Ready for an epic adventure in Morocco?
Click the BOOK NOW button to head to our payment portal and secure your spot with a €350 deposit. The remaining balance will be due 1 month before departure.
How many people are on the trip?
This trip requires a minimum of 6 guests to proceed, and this minimum must be met at least 6 weeks before departure to be guaranteed.
If the minimum number of guests is not met by then, a full refund will be issued.
Expect to travel with 6-8 new friends!
Why are deposits non-refundable?
What about my other payments? Are they refundable?
All payments, except your deposit, are fully refundable three months prior to the departure date. After the three-month mark, any payments made are non-refundable. This is because we are usually unable to find a replacement at such short notice, and have contracts in place with our vendors that need to be fulfilled.
Again, we strongly recommend all travellers have travel insurance so that they can refund you should your plans change. At the end of the day, we are a small business, and we want nothing more than to continue showing our guests the world. We hope you understand the importance of adhering strictly to this policy.
How much money will I need for non-included meals, alcohol, and souvenirs?
Morocco is genuinely good value once you’re on the ground. Most of your meals are covered by the trip, so your main expenses will be drinks, any meals not included, and souvenirs.
Expect to pay €10-15 for meals that are not included, €3-5 for local drinks, and €7-15 for imported wine and cocktails.
How does tipping work?
To make things smooth and stress-free, we will be collecting a kitty of €30 at the beginning of the trip. This ensures all of our incredible on-the-ground vendors are taken care of, including guides, drivers, meals, and activities that are listed in your itinerary.
How physically demanding is the trip?
This trip is accessible to most people in good health.
Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?
Yes! Please let us know your requirements in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
What if I want my own room?
We believe that rooming is one of the best parts of the experience. It feels a little like adult summer camp and has always been a highlight for our guests, with nothing but positive feedback in the past.
That being said, if you feel that sharing does not suit your travel style, we are happy to discuss the option of a single room supplement. Simply reach out to us at janetsgrouptrips@gmail.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.
What are the health and vaccination requirements?
No mandatory vaccines are required to enter Morocco.
We recommend being up to date with routine vaccinations and consulting your GP or a travel clinic at least 4-6 weeks before departure if you would like further guidance.
Who’s leading the trip?
Janet will be leading this Morocco trip!
